There are several different types of accident for which you may be able to make a claim for compensation for your injuries and loss. Three of the main types are:-
ACCIDENTS ON THE ROAD:
It is compulsory for drivers of vehicles to have insurance cover against claims from people who may have injuries. This includes claims from their own passengers even if in the same family. Such a claim can be made whether or not the police have prosecuted the driver at fault. If the driver had no insurance a claim can still be made from an organisation called the Motor Insurers Bureau

ACCIDENTS AT WORK:
If you are injured while at your place of work or working elsewhere you may be able to claim compensation for your injuries and losses, including any loss of earnings. Your employer MUST have insurance for claims of this type. To succeed, you will have to prove the accident was the fault of your employer or another employee, for whom your employer is responsible.

SLIPS & TRIPS:
This type of accident can occur anywhere and often results in an unpleasant injury. If you weren't looking where you were going it may be completely or partly your own fault. But if someone else had a duty to keep the floor or path clear free of obstruction, potholes, slippery substances and other hazards etc then you may have a claim.
